Department of Yoga · “Nalavazhvu” Yoga Club
Yoga is an ancient Indian system and is essentially spiritual. It has potential for both the prevention of disease and the promotion of health. Its holistic approach brings harmony to all walks of life and influences our day-to-day living — bringing changes in behaviour and attitude that improve relationships at home and in society.

02
The basic yoga poses and healthy alignment, taught step by step and practised in a vinyasa style that combines movement with breath.
03
Yogic breathing, concentration and meditation — used to manage stress, steady the mind and build self-awareness.
Objective
We practise a vinyasa style of yoga, which combines movement, breath and meditation to foster flexibility, relaxation and self-awareness. Students learn the basic yoga poses (asana), healthy alignment and yogic breathing.
Aim of yoga
The main aim of yoga is integrating the body, mind and thoughts so as to work for good ends. A modern lifestyle leads to disease — mostly through poor food habits, heavy daily routines and air and water pollution, which in turn easily affect the human body.
Yoga brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind, helps manage stress and anxiety, and keeps you relaxed. It also helps increase flexibility, muscle strength and body tone, and improves respiration, energy and vitality.
